Dr. Cecil D. Murray's Harvard Collection, Murray's Law, Father of Biophysics, WWI. Dr. Cecil Dunmore Murray was one of the fathers of modern biophysics. The author of Murray's Law & countless scientific papers & accomplishments, Dr. Murray 1897-1935 was awarded the Naval Cross for his service in the Naval Aviation Corps in the USN of WWI, and a graduate of Harvard Medical School. This collection includes Dr. Murray's May 18, 1916 (N.G. Wood & Sons, Boston) trophy awarded to him by the Harvard Athletic Association for winning a Novice Singles competition. He participated and was awarded this trophy shortly before he left to serve in WWI as a pilot with the Naval Aviation Corps. In addition a collection of his antique postcards from Harvard, Boston & surrounding areas are included as well that were discovered in the trunk with his trophy.
